THE CHORAL PILGRIMAGE 2012
The world famous choral ensemble with their internationally acclaimed conductor, Harry Christophers - are back again at St James the Greater
At its summer concert this year, The City of Leicester Singers will welcome singers from other choirs and musical societies to join with them in a 'Come and Sing' event. This will take place at the church of St. James the Greater, London Road, Leicester, on 16th June, 2012.
Among the well-known and less familiar choruses we have chosen to perform, are works by Handel, Bach and Vivaldi.
This uplifting concert will be directed by Richard Archer, accompanied on the organ by Geoffrey Clarke, and will include solo and duet contributions from members of The City of Leicester Singers.
The programme will consist of three pieces:
Genoveva Overture by Schumann
Wesendonck Leider by Wagner, soprano Marie Vassiliou
Symphony No 2 by Elgar
An Evening of Song with Fosse Singers and Lancaster Community Choir.
Added by: andySinging the weekend services in Norwich Cathedral and concerts in two parish churches during the week. The choirs will be living and travelling on boats on the Norfolk Broads.
