The Leicester Church Music Consort, known affectionately as the LCMC, comprises some thirty singers and has been in existence for over forty years, originally starting life as a quartet. It specialises in singing church music in context, particularly Evensong.

Its singers are drawn from all over Leicestershire, many of whom sing in a number of other church and secular choirs.
It normally practices on the third Tuesday of every month and also on the last Tuesday before it performs at a service. A short voice test is conducted for prospective members, but please do not be put off, or feel daunted by this if you are interested in joining us. Whilst the output of the group is highly professional, a prime directive of the group has always been to offer places to people who love the world of church music, rather than to those who possess exceptional ability and expertise. This coupled to the Christian ethos which the group shares makes it a unique ensemble.
The growing list of places that the choir has sung at during it's lifetime is impressive and it includes the following major Parish Churches, Abbeys and Cathedrals
- Bath Abbey
- Beverley Minster
- Birmingham Cathedral
- Blackburn Cathedral
- Bristol Cathedral
- Canterbury Cathedral
